Plassen. Bergen

My mum and I thought the food was delicious: she had the half-and-half open sandwich - half crab, and half goats cheese with lingonberries; and I had the chicken and pesto, orzo(we think?) salad. Yum! The waiting staff were friendly - and thank you especially to the kind young person who was sweet and took our photos The nice couple sitting at the next table also offered to take photos for us. I think most of the diners were local. We’re from the UK

The place, yes, it’s the proper name. What an atmosphere, service, tasting menu, lovely people and music. A concept without fears, a divert coffee please with attitude and passion for what they do. I think that they have planned every single detail. Thanks for the time, and I recommend 100% if you are looking for different, tasteful and generous portions. Sorry, I don’t have more pictures; I was surprised and excited to try everything I forgot to document.

Fantastic and generous food in a very cozy environment. We shared a chicken waffle, a Skagen sandwich and Hummus and all was cooked and presented beautifully. Highly recommend a visit

Incredibly nice wait staff, and really delicious sandwiches. The portions are much bigger than I expected and was given a to-go bag, so for most eaters I would recommend a half sandwich.

Very beautiful interior and nice staff :) However, you won't find much Norwegian traditional food here. Is more international

Even though it is always crowded and booked, this is one of those places where we are ready to sit outside even in cold weather:-) plus they have a heater outside so it is nice. Gorgeous looking brunch sandwiches to die for. Definitely our favourite brunch place. Also, very good proper coffee. I know Norwegians like filter coffee but here they serve the real one. On top of it all, pleasent staff, home made bread, nice cakes, and I just love those beautiful designed cups. They think of the whole brand here, and the customer.

Overall : Worth a detour In the heart of Bergen close to Vågen harbour and adjacent to Bryggen - a picturesque UNESCO World Heritage site. You will find Plassen, a restaurant and cafe home to Bergensers (Bergen locals) and tourists alike. The concept is created by the founding family of Lie Nielsen bageri and has a unique inner city chic feeling to it. Ambiance : High ceiling and plentiful of natural light. Chic interior design and an open kitchen. Full rights. Food & Beverage : Plassen offers a wide range of traditional Norweigan menu options together with international alternatives. Some of the dishes are unique for the area and must be tried! It serves both as a cafe and restaurant. Don't forget to order the amazing lemonade which is second to none. Staff : Very friendly and helpful. The ambiance and staff creates a very welcoming feeling. Guest characteristics : Bergeners (the locals), hipsters and weekenders a like.

May be the best meal we had in Bergen. Stopped in for a quick lunch before a Fjord boat tour and was incredibly surprised. The Whipped feta sandwich (pickled bell pepper and dried olives) was over the top wonderful - it is presented open face like a bruschetta and was incredible. The sardine plate came with a very gourmet sardine (in oil) with an aioli, salt and very soft local bread. Flavor was incredible and a great deal (the can of sardines presented is sold in stores for 120 and the plate was not much more than that - great deal. My wife wants to go back tomorrow and order the exact same thing - that never happens on vacation. Service was excellent - the most friendly people we met the entire trip.
